David Smith will use his three month Abbey Fellowship to explore fully the progress and gains in his recent work which has, for many years, been exploring the expressive possibilities of hybrid ornamental and decorative forms. In Rome he will be researching Baroque Art and Architecture and in particular the decorative hybrids of Raphael.
